A couple of questions:
1. What does it mean to sponsor a rider? Is that the same as buying their registration? If I purchase my partner’s registration, does that make it tax deductible?
2. Must out-of-town riders stay at the La Quinta? Are there shenanigans that we would miss on Saturday night if we stayed elsewhere? Or is it generally preferred that we give our love to La Quinta for hosting our rallying selves?
3. How late do the Saturday night events go? Is this usually a late-night hard partying drinking crowd, or an older, liver-cautious, fades by 10pm crowd?
1) Sponsoring a rider is another way of contributing to JDRF. It’s akin to sponsoring a walker or cyclist as is common in other fundraisers. It is not the same as a registration. Rider sponsorship is tax deductible and you will be provided a Receipt
2) Most out-of-town riders stay at the La Quinta – it is not “Required” We have negotiated a special rate which is available thru June 6. The Saturday Night Activities do take place at LaQuinta
3) We have a number of riders that travel long distances to get to the rally, so 10-11PM is generally the time things begin to fade out at the Hotel. That said, for those that do like to party, there is a popular bar / restaurant right next door to continue festivities.
