Asking for Your Help
Summer in the Capital District of New York is a time for kids to enjoy being outside. But for children who suffer from Type 1 Diabetes, the constant monitoring of blood glucose and the need for insulin injections puts a damper on fun. Wouldn’t it be great if we could find a cure?
Summer is not only for kids, but it’s for grown-ups, too. I ride with the A-Town Rumblers, a local scooter group and fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Our biggest annual fund raiser is The A-Town Rumble, a three-day rally in New York’s Capital District (July 8–10). Since 2010, The A-Town Rumble has raised more than $30,000 for JDRF!
The purpose of my email is to ask you to be a sponsor for me in this year’s A-Town Rumble. I hope to raise $1,000 toward this year’s $10,000 goal. Any amount large or small would be most welcome!
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor to help cure childhood diabetes, this year we have a webpage that makes it easy and quick here.
If you would prefer to donate by check, please make it payable to JDRF with “Sponsoring Scott Brodie” in the memo. Mail it to JDRF, c/o Cindy Price, 2 N. Lyons Ave, Menands, NY 12204
Type 1 Diabetes is a terrible disease that too often afflicts children. Although there is no cure today, promising new research could realistically turn Type 1 into Type None.
Please help if you can.
